Castro Wine Fest is a major event in the panorama of wine festivals. The event takes place in the old centre of Castro, situated on the acropolis overlooking the surrounding bay, and is also a promotional showcase for wineries from Salento that are taking part and for the area's excellent products. 
The wineries' stands are positioned along a wine route that passes through the belvedere behind the walls, the Aragonese Castle and the terraces overlooking the sea, Piazza Vittoria, the Bishopric and the Archaeological Park area. 

Along the route, various delicacies can be sampled: raw seafood in the area known as the fish route, other seafood delicacies inspired by traditional cuisine, typical cheeses and dairy products, and preparations based on pulses, vegetables and organic and natural products from the Apulian region.

Music stations accompany the walk of those passing through the different areas of the route.
