Caves Itinerary

Castro has a Karst landscape in which the nature has had the chance to create wonderful caves, important for the science too.

These caves are among the most fascinating and interesting throughout the Apulian coastline.

This itinerary allows people to enjoy the incredible beauty of both the sea and the shore, from nature to science.

You are allowed to visit Grotta Zinzulusa just entering it from the inland square Zinzulusa. It is not possible to visit the cave from the seaside, unless you visit just its external entrance.

Every year more than 80thousand visitors come to Zinzulusa cave.

From both Zinzulusa and the Port of Castro it is possible to go all along the coastal caves and enjoy the crystal-clear sea: Romanelli, Palombara, Azzurra.
